Nightlife
Mazatlan is famous for the nightlife. If
you have the energy then get ready to enjoy yourself. There
city is home to an abundance of great bars and restaurants
of all types. The Zona Dorada is home to many of the better
places in town. There will be something for everyone in
this area. Certain nightclubs open at about 10pm and will
stay open till around 5am. Pace yourself.
Hanging Out On The Beach
The beach is one of the main reasons people
come to Mazatlan. If this is one of your reasons to come
to Mazatlan, you will not be dissappointed. This area of
Mexico has mile after mile of sunny, clean and sandy beaches.
Relax on the beach to get some sun, splash around in the
water or rent a jet ski. Whatever you want to do on the
beach you can do it in Mazatlan.
Swimming and Snorkeling
If you want to swim or snorkel Mazatlan
is an excellent destination. The beaches typically have
a large shallow area extending some distance of the edge
of the water. This means you can wade or swim fairly far
offshore. The water is pretty warm, so enjoy yourself.
Mazatlan has a variety of snorkeling tours
available. The prices tend to be very reasonable and the
clarity of the water in the area of Mazatlan is pretty clear.
It is a great way to spend the day!
Surfing
Mazatlan offers some great surfing for
those who enjoy this sport. The main spot for surfing is
at Cerritos, which is just north of Mazatlan. There are
a couple of other spots in the area as well. If you don't
have your own surf board, there are a couple of shops that
provide rentals. These shops also have boogie board rentals
as well.
In the afternoons the wind picks up, so
if you like windsurfing that is a great option as well.
Deep Sea Fishing
Mazatlan is famous for the fishing, so
if this is what you like to do, you will not be dissappointed.
or many people, fishing is the reason they come to Mazatlan
in the first place. The city is home to a large commercial
and sport fishing fleet. Some of the fish you can go after
include tuna, marlin, swordfish and dorado. The quality
of the boats and crews tends to be pretty good. The school
can help refer you to the better boats.
Scuba Diving
The water is pretty clear around Mazatlan
so that means there is some good scuba diving. Add in warm
water and abundant marine life and you should have some
fun. There are a variety of dive shops in the area with
some pretty good divemasters and equipment.
