Traveling By Air To Mazatlan
When flying into Mazatan you will be arriving
at the General Rafael Buelna International Airport (MZT)
which is located about 17 miles outside of the city.
Your direct flights into Mazatlan are limited
so look around. There are however connection cities in the
US and Mexico that you can use to get to Mazatlan. Shop
around for the best flights / deals.
Getting from the airport to the city is
not a problem. You can take a taxi for about $20 or take
an airport shuttle bus for about $7.
Taxi Service In Mazatlan
In Mazatlan you will find taxis to be inexpensive
and everywhere. Currently there are two companies in Mazatlan.
One company has red and white taxis and the other has green
and white taxis. They are comfortable, with a/c and pretty
cheap. The cost of a taxi will range from 30 to 50 pesos.
However make sure you negotiate a price before getting in
the taxi. If you want something more relaxing take one of
the pulmonies, which are open air taxis. A little more expensive
than a normal taxi, they can be fun to take if you are in
no hurry.
Bus Service In Mazatlan
The cheapest way to get around Mazatlan
is to take a bus. Most buses will cost between 3-7 pesos.
They pretty much run along all the main streets, which means
you can get anywhere you need to go. At certain times of
the day they can get a little crowded. To get on a bus you
must either wait at a designated bus stop or wave one down.
They will typically stop for you when you wave your arms.
Car Rentals In Mazatlan
We do not recommend renting a car in Mazatlan.
Why? Because there really is no reason to. Public transportation
is cheaper and tends to be more convenient. However if you
decide you must, there are plenty of car rental agencies
in Mazatlan.
