Course Accreditation
Students
may receive credits for courses at the Spanish language school
through Seattle Central Community College. For more information
or to apply for credit, please
go here
Also students may receive credit at their university
or college for courses taken at the Spanish language school with
a previous agreement between both institutions.
The Spanish language school also offers courses
to prepare students for college Spanish placement exams and the
D.E.L.E. (The official diploma of Spanish as a Second Language).

The Programs
The Spanish language school provides students of all levels
with intensive, interactive programs designed to meet the needs
of each student. Courses begin each Monday year-round and consist
of sessions of 50 minutes with breaks
in between.
Upon arrival, students are given placement exams to determine
their Spanish levels.
Regular
Program (25 lessons per week)
This program consists of classes with a maximum of 5 students
per teacher. Courses are held from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and
are composed of three lessons of conversational grammar and two
lessons of practical conversation and/or lectures.
Regular Program
(15 lessons per week)
This program consists of classes with a maximum of 5 students
per teacher. Courses are held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and
are composed of three lessons of conversational grammar.
Individual Program
(15 individual lessons + 10 group lessons per week)
This is an accelerated, personalized program that consists of
three lessons of individual instruction and two hours of conversation
and lectures in groups with no more than 5 students per teacher.
The individual instruction is offered in the afternoon.
Executive Program
(25 group lessons + 15 individual lessons per week)
Students in the executive program receive three hours of intensive,
one on one instruction in addition to the five-hour course of
our Regular Program. Together with the eight hours of classes,
an executive lounge, executive assistant services, and a virtual
office are provided to meet the needs of these students. Private
lectures with professionals in the students' fields of interest
can be arranged for an additional charge per hour of lecture.
The Spanish language school's executive lounge provides executive
students with an area to read the newspaper, watch the latest
news or simply relax. During school hours, there will be a bilingual
executive assistant to take and deliver phone messages, send faxes
and e-mails, type letters and assist the students in anyway possible.
Private Lessons
Private lessons are available in the afternoons at an extra cost.

Our teachers
The Spanish language school’s staff of professional Mexican teachers,
with more than 15 years of teaching experience, is specially trained
to maximize the students´ learning potentials. All of the Spanish language school’s
instructors have taken courses on Spanish as a Second Language,
and some have Education, Business Administration and Marketing
degrees as well. Each instructor is amply qualified to instruct,
but our instructors are also unique in their patience, attentiveness
and eagerness to interact with and assist students, all of which
creates a comfort level and friendship between student and teacher.
Our Courses
At the Spanish language school we focus on the conversational ability of the
students though writing, comprehension, pronunciation, grammar
and reading are also emphasized. Following are descriptions of
the grammatical points covered in each level.
Beginner Spanish
I - Gender and number, definite and indefinite articles,
adjectives, the verbs "estar", "haber" and
"ser", demonstratives, regular and irregular verbs in
present tense, direct pronouns (part I).
Beginner Spanish
II - Irregular verbs in present tense (part II), present
progressive, present perfect and preterit tense, reflexive verbs,
direct and indirect pronouns in the same sentence.
Intermediate Spanish
I - Imperfect tense, imperfect progressive and preterit
progressive tenses, preterit and imperfect in the same sentence,
accidental verbs, comparisons, past perfect tense.
Intermediate Spanish
II - Future tense, conditional tense, passive voice, comparisons
of "por" and "para", familiar and formal commands.
Advanced Spanish I - Subjunctive
mode (present
and past).
Advanced Spanish
II. – In depth analysis and review of all the grammatical
points seen in the previous levels.
Advanced Spanish
III. - Analysis of literature, newspapers, journals and
other material, Grammatical review.
Lectures and Activities
During the conversation hours, lectures are given in Mexican history,
Zapotecan culture, national holidays, etc
The Spanish language school’s
books and materials were written by the Academic Director and
have been improved over the years with the help of the qualified
instructors to create the perfect support for your classes. The
Academic team updates the materials frequently and adds new worksheets,
visual aids and the latest methodology for teaching Spanish as
a Second Language.
Afternoon Workshops
We offer afternoon workshops and activities that include, cooking,
arts and crafts, salsa classes, singing Mexican songs, a fiesta
or a picnic. Students at The Spanish language school meet once a week with
the staff and faculty for "Café Social". A movie
is shown each week during one of the conversation classes, and
all students wishing to test and improve their auditory comprehension
are welcome to watch it.
