Playa del Carmen and surrounding areas are ideal for such a sport.
The Punta Allen and Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve just a few hours
from Playa del Carmen has several fishing lodges with all amenities
including chefs and guides.
The Yucatan peninsula is one of the best deep
sea fishing destinations attracting hundreds of fishermen every
spring. Puerto Aventuras south of Playa del Carmen is the harbor
which is world famous for sport fishing. The currents of the Gulf
of Mexico brings a wide variety of fish and the caribbean weather
ensures good fishing days. Dorado, sailfish, marlin, blackfin,
yellowfin, kingfish, snapper and tuna can be found in abundance.
One advantage of fishing from Puerto Aventuras is that the fishing
spots are all very close to the marina so you wont have to waste
time hunting for hot spots.
