Queretaro
is known for is natural stone formations and caverns. For adventurous
visitors it provides an exciting exploration of the depths of
the earth.
The Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve in the state
of Queretaro is a great place for enterprising visitors. It is
comprised of about 100,000 acres of deep valleys, sinkholes, caves
and caverns interspersed amongst the Sierra Gorda’s majestic
hills. Puente de Dios or god's bridge is a natural cavern that
has the Escanela river carrying water through it in the Jalpan
de Serra region.
Grutas Los Herrera in the region of San Joaquin,
is a great place to visit for the beauty of its natural stone
formations. The region is known for its beautiful landscape, consisting
of waterfalls, forests and caverns and important mineral deposits.
The caves were discovered in 1968 and has several partitions with
names like jungle pass, lions den, roman empire etc. The mystery
and excitement is aparent while exploring these chambers that
were formed over thousands of years. The Carambada Cave in the
region of Colon, is another wonderful opportunity to explore the
mysterious underground.
