These
courses are available for those who demonstrate ability to understand
spoken Spanish to an advanced level (levels 7 and up). The courses
vary according to the time of year students are attending classes.
A class will only open if there are a minimum of 5 students enrolled
for a particular course. Elective courses available are Contemporary
Mexican Literature, Hispanic American Literature, Hispanic American
literature, A general history of Mexico (up to 1872), Contemporary
Mexican History, History of Mexico and United States relations,
Economic and political history of Mexico, Economic and political
history of Latin America, The Mexican political system, Mexico
and international trade, Mexican Culture, and others.
Supplementary Spanish language course purpose
is to develop student’s ability in all oral, listening skills,
grammar and written Spanish as well as expanding their vocabulary.
Such studies can help them enhance their daily communication skills
and develop a greater cultural and communicative competence. These
courses include written Spanish, Advanced grammar, grammar/writing
for bilingual students, and conversational Spanish. |
