    Playa Tamarindo is located along the western coast of Costa Rica. In specific it is on the Nicoya Peninsula and is part of an area referred to as Guanacaste.     Tamarindo and the area around the North Pacific Coast of Costa Rica receive the least amount of rain in Costa Rica. The climate is very comfortable ranging between 72ºF (22ºC) and 92ºF (34ºC) during the whole year. During certain times of the year winds are common which help to really keep things cool. Rainy season starts in May and runs through Oct/Nov. It is very typical during this season to wake up to sunny and blue skies. Rain typically occurs during the afternoons but is rarely long in duration. This means that the rain will not affect any of your outdoor adventures!

    Things To See And Do In The Area

    • Participate in some of the local fiestas in the areas. Many small towns have traditional holidays and have fiestas that are fun to be a part of.
    • Endangered sea turtles lay their eggs on some of the beaches in the area. If you are there during the right time you can see the turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. Even more fascinating is watching the eggs hatch and seeing the baby turtles make their way to the warm waters of the Pacific.
    • Within the immediate area are 3 wonderful nature reserves. The abundance of wildlife you will see is absolutely amazing!
